Judith Malina and Hanon Reznikov present scenes, poems and other dramatic texts from The Living Theatre’s repertory. Featured works include: the New York premiere of Refugee Blues; Utopia, The Zero Method and Capital Changes by Hanon Reznikov; and Malina’s translation of Bertolt Brecht’s The Antigone of Sophokles. Founded in 1947 by Judith Malina and Julian Beck, the Living Theatre is a controversial and groundbreaking troupe that melds dramatic performance with political activism. Malina, Beck and current co-director Reznikov draw inspiration for their work from sources as disparate as Kabbalah, Antonin Artaud and LSD trips. with Sylvie Degiez and Wayne Lopes providing musical interludes.
